How to Hit Tiger’s Stinger Shot?

Tiger Woods didn’t invent the knockdown shot, or stinger as it is often referred to, but he seems to have made it popular again. The stinger is a shot with a long iron or fairway wood that stays very low with little spin and runs after hitting the ground. Tiger has made great use of this shot over the years. It’s a great shot to hit under pressure and in the wind. Paul Azinger made a pretty good name for himself while hitting the knockdown almost exclusively with his irons. Either way, it’s a crown pleaser and also very effective, especially on fast, dry courses and links.

How do you hit this shot? I’m going to show you. It’s not as hard as you might think, but it does require some grasp of the fundamentals and I wouldn’t recommend this shot (or any specialty shot) to high handicappers. If you can’t make consistent contact yet you should probably work on that first before you try hitting anything but a basic full swing shot.

As with most shots, the secret to hitting the knockdown shot is in your setup. To hit the ball lower, you have to make a few changes that will help you de-loft the club and basically turn a 5 iron into a 3 iron.

Step 1: Take an extra club or two and grip down on the club so that a few inches at the top of grip stick out past your left hand. Choking down on the grip gives you a bit more control and makes the club shorter, which reduces clubhead speed and spin.

Step2: Move the ball back a few inches in your stance. Ideally you want to play the ball just behind the center of your stance. The reason we do this is mostly to force the hands ahead of the ball and deloft the club. Be carefull not to play the ball too far back, as this forces you to make compensating moves to hit the ball solid and produces too much of a decending blow, creating backspin. The goal is to reduce backspin so the shot flies lower.

Step 3: Make a full backswing and shoulder turn. Don’t confuse the knockdown with a punch. This isn’t a punch shot. A punch shot requires a shorter backswing, but a knockdown is a full swing that flies lower, so make a normal, full shoulder turn.

Step 4: Lead with the hands. The key to this shot is delofting the club, and the setup is designed to help that. At impact your hands should be ahead of the ball and the club should be striking the ball with a slightly descending blow. You have to resist the urge to help the ball in the air by flipping it, the goal here is a low flying shot.

Step 5: Follow through low with your hands going towards the target. Tiger likes to play this shot with “soft hands”, which basically means that he’s not releasing the club aggressively. Instead he doesn’t let the right hand overtake the left on the follow through and the result is a low flying stinger, as shown below.

Dougherty ends bunker play nightmare

Losing sleep over greenside bunker shots? Well Nick Dougherty has a cure.

The three-time European Tour winner ended those nightmares for Golf live fans by prescribing them with a doughnut training drill at London Golf Club over the weekend.

Dougherty interacted with the crowd at the back of the 18th as he fired a series of short, long and buried sand shots next to the pin using his number one bunker tip; taught to him by short-game expert Mark Roe.

"The key is to imagine a doughnut-like shape around the ball," said the Englishman. "In practice, draw a circle around the ball and hit the whole doughnut out of the bunker, maintaining good rhythm and good club head speed to make the doughnut disappear."

Dougherty continued his masterclass by explaining the importance of a lower stance rather than one that is too upright. The common fault I see is when someone stands up tall and expects to be able to get the club under the ball," added Dougherty.

Widening the stance and flexing the knees will bring the sternum down and your right hand lower, allowing you to hit the sand before the ball. Having shown his fans how to scramble, Dougherty finished the session by explaining what to do when poached.

The 28-year-old made it clear a steep backswing is vital to make the club dig into the back of the plugged ball. "It might not look appealing, but there is a way out," said Dougherty. "Stay focused on a spot two to three inches behind the ball and swing steeply and abruptly with a full wrist hinge.

Try to smack the sand hard but don't follow through too much because the ball will have lots of top spin. Stopping the swing a few feet after impact will help you hold the face open to clear the lip and stop the ball on the green.

Planning A Charity Golf Tournament

Looking for tips on planning a charity golf tournament? There are many factors to consider, so I'll stick to the four main ones for this article. The success of your charity golf event revolves around maximizing player turnout, increasing pledge sizes, obtaining sponsored prizes, and planning tips.

Player Turnout
Your success depends on how many players your golf event draws and how actively you have your players solicit sponsors for their own rounds.

To maximize turnout, you need to get major publicity for your event. That means putting out multiple press releases, getting local media coverage from newspapers and television stations, and placing ads in the sports section of the local paper.

For the best results, put your press releases out through PR Web. Appoint a spokesperson to handle all media contacts and follow-up. For more tips, read my article on fundraising publicity.

Charity Pledges
The key is getting each player to collect a certain amount of pledges. I recommend a minimum of $100 per player in pledges. I've also played in tournaments where that number was $250 per player.

Obviously, you want to motivate the participants to raise as much money as possible. Some groups offer incentives for the top pledge getters. Others seek corporate sponsorships for that firm's players.

Pledge amounts determine the success of your charity golf event, so get input from experienced golfers and golf pros in your area.

Top Golfer Prizes
Generally speaking, you'll draw more golfers if you have great prizes for longest drive, closest to the hole, hole in one, lowest team score, lowest actual score, and best adjusted score (handicap).

You solicit local merchants to sponsor those prizes. Work with an insurance-related prize company for things like the hole-in-one contest. That way you can offer a bigger prize for a much lower outlay.

Aim to get 100 golfers (25 foursomes) and your small group could easily raise $10,000 or more. Larger turnouts will net even more with some charity golf tournaments drawing 500 golfers competing for big prizes.

callaway ft-iz driver is the Tiger wood's secrect

While Tiger Woods was carrying the most difficult problems in life and exposure of the erosion of private life made his hero image droped instantly, no one can deny his achievements and hegemony in golf sports.Tiger wood's superb golf skill is enough to make each callaway ft-iz driver fans crazy.how can he do that? what is his secret? As a matter of fact, except tallents, just " practice more and more."

Tiger Woods came into golf when he was very young, he became the center among golfers by his outstanding score when he was 6 years old.He won the US Masters in 1997, one year after he turned to be professional. in 2000, he even won three Wonderfood Cafe except the Master. So far he is the winner of 14 Grand Slam titles,71 games in the professional races. All are related with his first teacher, also his father Earl Woods, whose good education methods makes tiger woods so perfect.

When Tiger Woods was an infant his father carpeted shelf and  produced a small driving range in the Garage,at that time he needed to sit in the high chair to see his father praticing discount golf equipment. when 9 months old, when Woods's father sawn off TaylorMade Burner Rescue Hybrids, so that tigers can use it to hit the ball in face of net.4 years old, Earl get a golf coach for tiger woods specifically.6 years old, started going to the gym with the other young players play together, but also at that age he is on his admiration.

First of all, the tiger enhances their self-confidence by listening to recordings. His father would also help learn how to concentrate on when distracted. He would stand in front of the tiger woods, saying that "When I was a tree",Tigers must hit callaway ft-iz driver beyond his father.Sometimes, the Earl would intentionally shaking the coin pocket and create sound to interfer Woods or rolled he ball  in front of him.Through a number of little tricks and special way, helped tigers has more focused attention in the game of callaway ft-iz driver.

Secondly, the Tigers practice controling your temper in the stadium.Sometimes he would go mad, but the bad mood will affect his competion more, then he will practice to control his temper. One time, in the game when the Tigers will be hitting TaylorMade Burner Tour Fairway Wood but a mobile phone ring tones rang out, the tiger did not take seriously.Later, he said he did not hear any sound, it is because of his attention is going to be on the ball.

In addition, we all know that Tiger is always will not tolerate their own mistakes on the court. However, he will not go mad, but to go outside to work harder to practice TaylorMade Burner Rescue Hybrids, so as not to repeat similar mistakes.

It is worth mentioning that despite of knee injury, Tiger Woods still won six titles in the whole 2008 season which is devided into two parts.

After Years of Near Misses, Toms Pulls Out a Victory

David Toms threw his arms up and smiled when he finally regained the lead at the Colonial. This time, he did not let it get away.

A day after blowing a seven-stroke advantage to go into the final round at Forth Worth trailing Charlie Wi by one, Toms made an eagle with a wedge shot from 83 yards at the par-5 11th hole Sunday to take the lead for good. Toms went on to his first PGA Tour victory since January 2006.

Toms, 44, closed with a three-under 67 at Hogan’s Alley to finish at 15 under, one better than Wi. Toms’s 13th title came a week after a playoff loss to K. J. Choi at the Players Championship, his sixth runner-up finish since his previous victory.

“That just took a lot of guts; that’s really all,” Toms said. “That’s what I got by on today.”
Wi, of South Korea, shot a 69 for his fourth runner-up finish without a victory.

After that playoff loss at T.P.C. Sawgrass in Florida, Toms began at the Colonial with a 62, his best score in 429 rounds since a career-best 61 during his last victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Toms followed with another bogey-free 62 to match the PGA Tour scoring record for the first 36 holes of a tournament (124), and he opened the third round with a birdie.

At 17 under through 37 holes, Toms scored three bogeys in the next five holes. Wi took the lead with a 32-foot birdie at the par-3 16th. Wi extended his lead to three strokes after consecutive birdies to open Sunday’s round. Toms finally caught up at 13 under after Wi missed the green with his approach at the par-4 10th and two-putted for bogey.

Then came the clincher on the Colonial’s longest hole, the 635-yard 11th. After laying up to a perfect spot short of the green, and with Wi’s ball sitting in a front-side bunker, Toms bounced his wedge shot once. It landed just behind the pin and then rolled back into the cup.

DONALD DENIED NO. 1 Ian Poulter kept his fellow Englishman Luke Donald out of the top spot in the world golf rankings by beating him, 2 and 1, in the final of the World Match Play Championship in Casares, Spain.

Donald could have supplanted his compatriot Lee Westwood in the top spot.

Taylormade R7 CGB Max Fairway Wood

Two words for this club: Accuracy and Consistency. As far as I'm concerned, this is by far the best Fairway Wood on the market. I am producing straighter shots with a fair amont of trajectory. I bought it three weeks ago in a golf wholesale shop.

The TaylorMade R7 CGB Max Fairway Wood features movable weight technology, a discretionary weighting system that can be manipulated to change the club's characteristics on a shot-to-shot basis, generating results from a 20-yard draw to a 2-yard fade bias. It's easy enough to tinker with that course conditions or the state of a player's game that day can be factored into its performance, with the weight changing according to the situation at hand.

The r7 CGB Max fairway metals incorporate the same approaches as the driver: triangular head shape to pull the center of gravity away from the clubface; and movable weights. As with the driver, there are three weight ports in the fairway wood heads. According to TaylorMade, up to 22 yards of trajectory change are possible through different weight configurations.

It also has the triangular head shape that Taylor Made is so fond of, with the typical center of gravity that is low and deep in the clubhead. Because the titanium clubhead contains Taylor Made's inverted cone technology, it has a high MOI and enough forgiveness and stability for everyone. I hope ths information is useful to you.

It have great feel, and since it isn't super-game improvement you can play fades and draws. I've played two 18-hole rounds since purchasing it and have shot each in the mid 80s, so I can see these helping me drop my handicap - hopefully into the single digits.

Taylormade Burner Superfast Fairway Wood

To be honest, the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast fairway wood is one of my golf clubs. I have owned it three months ago. It is very special and awesome!

It features an improved SuperFast Technology which promotes higher swing speeds, hotter ball speed, and up to 10 yards more distance than the Burner 08 fairway woods. It also features a larger, more expansive clubface that is both easier to hit and confidence inspiring. It is the largest steel-headed fairway wood that TaylorMade has produced to date.

The last feature is a "fast-looking" triangular head shape that due to its larger size should help to give you more confidence when addressing the ball and also provides more forgiveness, which is something we could all use a bit more of.

It appears, at least at the present time, that TaylorMade is moving a bit away from the moveable weight technology that had made up a great deal of their woods and hybrids line of the past several years and offering several categories of products for various caliber of golfers under the Burner name.

At last, I must say that I like the looks of the Burner Superfast Fairway Woods. If you are going to buy discount golf clubs, maybe this is your right answer.

Great Combo Set--Mizuno JPX AD Series

Today, I will talk about the great Mizuno JPX AD SeriesMizuno like many manufacturers have moved away from the titanium face to a maraging face on their GI irons which provide as hot feel and very good ball speeds. This automatic iron is made for maximum forgiveness and distance.

The new JPX AD Driver takes some getting used to looks wise but has a very forgiving package with a mid height face but shallow back design. It is 46.5″ in length to produce maximum distance for those looking to go straight and long.

The JPX Forged irons has always been a forged automatic model for the average golfer and the new JPX Forged are no different as they seem to sport an even thicker topline that previous models. Mizuno however has continued not to use a pocket cavity for the forged model to maintain the soft feel.

The new JPX AD 3 wood is 43.5″ long and the 20* utility is 42″ long. Mizuno notes that for every extra inch in length there is an increase in swing speed of 1m/s. The shallow face coupled with deep CG and a thin titanium crown equal great feel and forgiveness. Paired with Mizuno’s Quad shaft for optimal trajectories, the JPX A25 features higher than standard lofts to help golfers get the ball in the air and achieve great carry and overall distance.

At last, I want to say, all of them are discount golf equipment. It is cost-effective to buy them if you have an great interest.

This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron. For the thinner face, larger cavity AP1 a hotter, more lively feel has been enhanced. Advanced Performance with Feel: High quality, high technology design and construction featuring a precise cast 431 stainless steel body, high density tungsten nickel sole and Tuned Feel System to enhance performance, forgiveness and feel.

More Forgiving: A perimeter weighted back flange and tungsten nickel sole bar locates the CG low and deep for increased MOI, forgiveness and stability. A slightly thinner topline and improved hosel blends for reduced visual offset, providing an enhanced set-up appearance.

Morrisson defends ‘Best of the Rest’ event

While Europe’s elite battle it out at the Volvo World Matchplay Championship in Andalucia, the rest of the European Tour will be out in the Atlantic for the Madeira Islands Open.

The event, co-sanctioned with the Challenge Tour, offers an inviting opportunity for others to make their mark. And James Morrison did just that in 2010 when he held off Oliver Fisher to claim his maiden European Tour title. And despite the leading players not being present, the Englishman is expecting a stiff test this week.

“Anyone can win in any given week,” the 26-year-old told the European Tour website. “Even though I’d had some decent results going into the tournament last year, probably not many people gave me much chance of winning. Yet I didn’t lose the lead from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon, so favourites mean very little.”

Morrison has had a disappointing start to the season, missing five consecutive cuts. But form has improved and he finished in a tie for seventh at the Ballantine’s Championship.

“I changed my coach after the Gulf Swing and we took a good look at my game and sorted out a few of the underlying technical issues,” he explained. “So I feel much better about my game now, because I’m now looking at the root causes and not trying to fix it with a band-aid.

“My season started in Andalucia really, and I had a few good weeks out in Asia which have really turned things around for me, so I’m very happy at the moment.”

I’m now at the point of my career where keeping my card is no longer my main focus – I’m more interested in the World Ranking and The Race to Dubai, and the best way to go about climbing both is by winning tournaments, so that’s what I’ll be trying to do this week, as every week.

Golf Technique ? Advantage: Women

Are women golfers more likely to accept, understand, use and benefit from ‘non-traditional’ performance enhancement techniques? Particularly techniques that call for the use of one’s intuitive facilities?

When it comes to golf, women have nearly always had the ‘mental’ advantage over their male counterparts. It is only the physical brawn that has kept men in separate ranks when it comes to the game of golf.

But that may quickly be changing, as more and more women learn about the new performance breakthrough technique known as EFT.

You may have already heard about EFT – perhaps you saw it on CNN, or maybe you saw it demonstrated on TV's Discovery Channel, or read the cover story on it in Women's World magazine.

Women are more likely to be open to trying ‘unorthodox’ performance enhancement techniques, and EFT certainly falls in the category of ‘non-traditional’ game performance enhancement methods. However, the results of applying EFT have been nothing short of spectacular.

While technique is equally important for golfers of either sex, women may be more likely to get greater benefits in less time by the application of this performance enhancement technique to their game. EFT is a very intuitive technique and it may just be that women are better attuned to this realm.

Indeed, many of the top EFT practitioners are women, and the application of this technique to a woman’s well tuned golf game may allow for greater breakthroughs in less time than for men.

Contributing author Stacey Vornbrock in particular is devoted to focusing her EFT talents on sports performance and range of motion issues. She continues to set the leading edge in energy techniques for golfers and others with sports performance issues.

Mired in Drought, GarcĂa Tries to Stay Positive

Last week, Mickelson addressed how he dealt with going winless in 46 major championships before breaking through for the first of his three Masters titles in 2004.

“I tried not to think about trying to get that label off my back when I was going through it,” Mickelson said.
“I think that that’s the only way to kind of go through that, is the more you think about winning, the more impatient you get on the golf course, and the less you think about the process of what has to happen for you to win, and consequently you don’t play your best.”

GarcĂa’s friends say he is trying to think about one shot — the one he is playing wholesale golf clubs — while blocking out all the peripheral things. He came back from what could have been a disastrous 40 on his first nine holes in the Players on Thursday with a 34, and then rebounded Friday for a four-under-par 68.
The Friday round featured some fine shot-making, including two almost perfect shots at the second hole to set up a 45-foot putt for eagle, which he made. After a big drive at No. 7, a chip-in eagle at the 12th and a couple of par-saving putts on the back nine that kept the round going, he wound up safely inside of the cut line, which was at even par.

“I wasn’t looking great to make wholesale golf equipment,” he said, “but we managed to somehow turn it around and make it. Now see if we can get some of that feeling, some of that good feeling back. I need to hopefully keep going in the same direction.”

Maybe if the putts start to drop, and the pressure lifts, so will GarcĂa’s spirits inside the ropes. If he can get back some of the joy for golf that he has for soccer, the drought could end soon.

What design do you demand from a golf course?

Nearly a century may have passed since the visionary course designer and former surgeon and teacher, Dr. Alister MacKenzie laid down his 13 rules on how to create a golf course in 1920. But following a survey of dozens of the world's finest course architects, little seems to have changed, a decade into the 21st century.

This has come as quite a surprise to the authors of a new research document 'Principles of Design in the 21st Century' - Sport Psychology Ltd which deals in the psychology of design of equipment and sports venues and Golden Golf Courses which focusses on the evaluation and psychological impact of golf courses.

They had expected to see a different pattern of results because of the development of earth- moving equipment unavailable in the early part of the 20th century. However, perhaps because of cash restraints in the current global economy, most architects indicated that they focus more on using the gifts that Mother Nature provides rather than plough through existing landscapes.

Authors of the research expected to see a rejection of MacKenzie's rule that states that there should be a minimum of walking between greens and tees because of the prevalence of buggies in the US and Canada compared to the UK and Europe but most still aspired to the original principle that these distances should be kept to a minimum.

The rule that came in for the biggest criticism stated that 'there should be a sufficient number of heroic carries”. And while authorities are maybe looking extend holes at Augusta National and the 17th at St Andrews, the modern breed of architects seem to want to place much greater emphasis on strategy to maintain the challenge and the enjoyment of the game for golfers at all levels.

There was also a significant focus on the importance of safety within course design that may not have been ranked so highly for previous generations, presumably because of the inferior  equipment and the shorter distances the golf ball was travelling.

It may now be many years since Dr MacKenzie, born in Wakefield of Scottish parents, last cast his eyes across a landscape as a vision of golfing heaven formed in his mind but his spirit can rest easy. The modern golf architect seems to have his principles very much at heart.

First look--TaylorMade R11 Driver

You may have heard the rumours about TaylorMade readying themselves to launch their new R11 driver and that it might be a little different from the norm.

Well, we've obtained some exciting and exclusive UK footage of TaylorMade's tour players testing the R11 and, as the pictures show, it is white! The TaylorMade R11 Driver is the latest and greatest from the makers of the No.1 driver in golf. It has new technology, like an adjustable sole that can adjust the face angle of the club, as well as the ability to adjust the launch angle, making it a truly adjustable driver.

This club promotes up to 100 yards of side-to-side trajectory change and 1,000 RPM backspin change, giving you consistent power and distance. The new aerodynamic shape promotes faster clubhead speed for more distance, 6 yards longer than the R9 Supertri.

FEEL: Dampened, muted, soft feel with some spring in the face; a well-balanced club that's easy to swing.
PLAYABILITY: Several faster swingers make aggressive swings without fear of a hook due to clubface adjustability; many testers hit it higher than normal.
LOOK: White head looks odd initially, but a majority of testers find that the distraction quickly becomes a non-issue; white makes clubhead look larger.

It's also apparently the most technologically-advanced driver they have ever launched and is already going down a storm with their stable of Tour stars. It is not to be missed.

Mental Golf Minute – Pre Shot Routine

Anyone who has played this game at any level has been nervous. It could be when you had a chance to beat your dad for the first time, or lining up a 3 footer for $20 against your buddies, or on the first tee of the club championship.

Either way, every golfer has experienced self-doubt. When my old college golf coach told me golf was 90% mental and 10%mental, I think what he really meant was that the battle that goes in onside one’s head during a round is far more difficult to manage than the one you will face on the course. We see it on the PGA Tour every week. Lets face it, at the highest level of the game everyone hits it good. I beleive what separates the good from the great is how they manage the mental game.

By now most of us know about Tiger’s father grooming him to be mentally strong by constantly distracting him and talking to him on the course. One day, Tiger reacted to a verbal taunt by smiling and hitting a great shot, and Earl Woods knew at that point that Tiger would be a champion. He knew then that he was mentally strong enough to handle the pressure of tournament golf.

Any first year college psychology student can probably describe three of the major conflicts in life – Man vs Man, Man vs. Nature, and Man vs Himself. It just so happens that we must face all three in the game of golf, like many other sports. That’s why sports are such a big part of our lives. Sports provides a never ending challenge to humans to excel. Golfers face these challenges every time they tee it up.

We all battle the course and the elements, and we all want to beat our buddies, but the hardest obstacle to overcome in golf is our own self doubt and negative thoughts. So how can the average golfer handle the perceived pressure and mental challenges we all face on the golf course? One of the first ways to do this is with a solid, repeatable pre-shot routine.

You may already have a trigger move that you do before every shot and don’t even realise it. Many players wipe their grips, or toss grass, or even clean the grooves. Whatever you choose as yout trigger, let it be the starting point for your pre-shot routine to tell your mind that it’s time to get down to business.

Some Golf Tips in Cold Weather

With my Floridian friends in mind, here are my tips for playing your best in the cold!

Tip #1 – Be realistic! Understand that the ball isn’t going to go as far or spin as much in the cold. You also have to be prepared for the fact that you can’t go out there with the same strategy as a normal day. Be prepared for a tough day and stay mentally tough.

Tip #2 – Keep your hands warm! This is the single most important tip for cold weather golf! Your hands are your only link to the club, and you need feel to play good golf. If your hands are frozen, you lose all your feel and your game will suffer, especially around the greens. Get yourself a nice pair of mittens and/or some hand warmers for your pockets. Wear the mitts whenever you aren’t hitting a shot, and take them off prior to hitting.

Tip #3 – Cover your head and ears! Some say that between 7 to 55 percent of your body heat can be lost through your head. Whatever the science is behind it, it’s smart to cover your head and ears with a wool hat or ear warmers. You’ll be more comfortable. Get yourself a nice ski tuque like mine, and at the very least it will be a great conversation piece!

Tip #4 – Play a softer ball. Golf balls don’t have compression ratings any more since wound balls went away, but some balls are softer and in cold weather you’ll want a ball that is easier to compress. A hard rock ball like a Top Flite XL will feel like a steel ball bearing on a cold day, so opt for a softer option, like the Srixon Soft Feel.

Tip #5 – Use more club! Check the ego at the pro shop bruiser, the ball doesn’t go as far in the cold. You might have to take one for the team and hit 2 more clubs on every approach shot, but at least you’ll be sure to get to the hole. Because the ball doesn’t go as far, also consider playing one tee up from your normal length. There’s nothing that will ruin a day faster than having to hit three wood into every par three and four.

Tip #6 – Channel your inner Scotsman and play the ground game. If it’s bitter cold outside, it’s likely the ground will be hard too. So use that to your advantage and play some run up shots and bump and runs. Forget the flop shot in the cold, as the ball won’t spin, the greens are harder and if you aren’t wearing mitts, your hands will feel like steel pliers on that lob wedge.

TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Iron Set Is Popular

The set is designed to create optimal distance gapping (12 yards) between clubs. Weighting is higher in short irons for more workability and gets progressively lower and more rearward in long irons for forgiveness. The sole design (raised in center, recessed in heel and toe) reduces drag and should increase playability.

These new sticks incorporate several subtle performance enhancements into the same spec package (lofts and shaft length) as the original. For instance, the set has a distinct size progression—long irons have the largest heads, thickest toplines and widest soles; more compact short irons have the narrowest toplines and sole widths.

For example, the faces of the taylormade burner 2.0 long-irons are thinner than the faces of the original Burner long-irons, which should help golfers create more ball speed and distance. The weight saved by making the faces thinner has been redistributed to the lower section of the clubs, near the heel and toe areas, which Wahl says should make them more forgiving too.

And it consists of irons individually engineered, resulting in the enhancement of multiple club properties that promote distance, uniform distance-gaps, increased playability and better sound and feel. A multi-functional sole lowers the center of gravity and reduces turf-drag to make it easy to launch shots high and long, while the inverted cone in each clubface is strategically sized and shaped center of gravity location in each head is precision-placed to optimize long-, middle- and short-iron flight; high-coefficient of restitution faces promote fast ball speed for long distance in the long-irons.

At the same time, the faces of the short irons are thicker than the original Burner's, and the heads are smaller and feature thinner top lines. Doing this puts a greater emphasis on accuracy and control at address, but also puts more weight directly behind the ball to enhance feel.

The multi-material badge on the back of the wholesale golf equipment is also an upgrade over the original Burner's. "It has a softer material integrated with the aluminum which gives it better dampening, in terms of managing vibration," Wahl says. "And in the long-irons, there is a stiff nylon layer of material that you can't see that really helps to improve the sound."

To sum up, the control, the feel, everything about these clubs is great. Not only do they have great control but they also look amazing. It is so popular now.

Ping G15 Hybrid VS Ping G15 Fariway Wood

To be honest, I like playing ping golf clubs, such as hybrid, fairway wood and so on. Why?

First, the ping g15 hybrid is engineered as a high-launching, forgiving alternative to long- and mid-irons. A large internal toe pad expands the perimeter weighting to make it PING’s most forgiving and longest hybrid ever. The stainless steel hybrid’s unique shape features an iron-style face and hosel design which positions the center of gravity closer to the face to increase launch angle and reduce spin. The clean look at address inspires confidence for golfers of all abilities.

The G15 isn't a miracle worker for your swing but it's pretty close. Put a decent swing into it and you will be rewarded. A not-so-decent swing will be at least playable. The lower handicapper might have more discernment for the subtle difference in hitting it flush versus just missing it but I couldn't and quite frankly, wasn't a big concern for me. Making golf a bit easier is much higher on the list and the G15 scored high marks.

The elongated, low profile design of the ping g15 fairway wood offers a long, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head. An external weight pad on the sole of the stainless steel head positions the center-of-gravity low and farther back to provide higher trajectories and increased distance.

As far as color combinations go, red and black have seemed to be the rave for the past few years and PING joins in with their offering on the G15. The sole mixes in a nice amount of black, red and silver to make the G15 esthetically pleasing to the eye for the rare instances you are actually looking at the sole.

I do have one issue with G15 and that's with the headcover. Oh, it looks nice and fits the club snugly and isn't difficult to take off but I found it to be a pain to put back on. The opening seemed a bit small for the head and I found myself wishing for the much easier to use sock-style headcover on my other fairway wood. In the grand scheme of things, not a huge issue but I would prefer not to have to wrestle with the headcover to get it on the club.

I've been quite impressed with the results I got with the G15 and if you're in the market for a new fairway wood, I would highly recommend adding it to your list.
